Spring Summer..Your Skin

Spring is here and Summer is approaching. Many of us can't wait for school to end, graduate, take a vacation or just enjoy the outdoors with friends and family. We spend most of our time outdoors during this time enjoying the beautiful sunny days and evenings. 

For healthy skin, having a good skincare regimen is key. It is also important to take advantage of our summer fruits & vegetables filled with anti-oxidants and vitamins. The more colorful the better. Let's not forget to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate by drinking plenty of WATER!

Most importantly to protect your skin from photo aging, sun damage and skin cancer, we must remind ourselves to wear a sunscreen and make sure our children wear sunscreen as well. Skin of Color MUST wear a sunscreen also. It is recommended by the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) that Skin of Color ( African Americans, Latinos, Middle Easterners, Indians, Southeast Asians wear at least an SPF 30  broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection and at least twice a day. The Skin of Color population is not immune from getting skin cancer. Wearing a sunscreen, hat, clothing that breaths is easy and non time consuming. Your skin is worth it. You and your family are worth it.  Sun protection is your shield of amour. It will not stop you from enjoying Spring and Summer vacations, holidays, celebrations, festivals and family & friends gatherings.

Eat well. Live well. Be healthy inside and out!
